The bids will be evaluated according to bid amount, by work experience, and by similar work qualifications. The Allamakee Board of Supervisors reserves the right to award contracts per individual Division or any combination of Divisions. The extent of the work, kinds and quantities of material involved in said project for which bids will be accepted consists of: Modification of piping and installation of a pneumatic pressure tank in the well house. Installation of an underground fire suppression water storage tank, pump and pump operation control system, valves, water level control system, and appurtenances. Installation of approx. 230 L.F. of 1.5" dia. HDPE water supply pipe and appurtenances. Modification of piping in the mechanical room of the Allamakee County Public Safety Center to separate the potable water system from the fire suppression system. Demolition and removal of a water storage tower. The successful bidder shall furnish a construction performance, payment, and maintenance bond in an amount equal to one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing the completed project against defective workmanship or materials for a period of two (2) years from and after acceptance by the Board of Supervisors of Allamakee County, Iowa. The beginning date for the work shall be fifteen (15) days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The Final Completion Date shall be August 30, 2024. Liquidated damages in the amount of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per consecutive working day will be assessed for each working day that work shall remain uncompleted with due allowance for extensions of the contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the Contractor and inclement weather. The Board of Supervisors of Allamakee County, Iowa reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities or technicalities in any bid, and to enter into such contract or contracts at the time of said meeting or at such later time as it shall deem to be in the best interest of said Allamakee County, Iowa. Bids will be considered only from parties who can show experience with the type of construction on which a bid or proposal is offered and also show, if requested, financial responsibility satisfactory to the Board of Supervisors of Allamakee County, Iowa.
