The Soos Creek Fish Hatchery raises, and releases fall Chinook salmon, Coho salmon, and both winter- and summer-run steelhead. The hatchery has been largely rebuilt through a series of recent projects. This project is intended to improve the management of process water and expand reuse capacity of the hatchery. The project involves work on an active fish hatchery, which must be completed with extreme caution to avoid harm to fish. Maintaining adequate water supply and water quality during the project are essential to hatchery operations. Project tasks must be completed during prescribed work periods listed below. This project includes the following items of work Bid Item 1: Mobilization, TESC, surface finishing, demobilization: Provide all labor, material, equipment, and miscellaneous items necessary and incidental to perform the following work, all as shown and described in the Contract Drawings. A. Mobilize to the site. B. Establish and maintain Temporary Erosion and Sediment Controls. C. Restore surfaces (grass, crushed rock, asphalt, and curb) to pre-project conditions. D. Demobilize from the site. Bid Item 2: Distribution Box 2 Expansion: Provide all labor, material, equipment, and miscellaneous items necessary and incidental to perform the following work, all as shown and described in the Drawings and Specifications. A. Relocate existing ladder and modify existing railing to accommodate access. B. Reroute any obstructing electrical conduits or other utilities as needed to avoid conflict. C. Expand Distribution Box 2 with a new concrete chamber including pipe, fittings, valves, and necessary supports. D. Install 4-inch drain line and valve. E. Cut 24-inch by 24-inch opening in concrete wall of existing distribution box 2. F. Install Owner-provided aerators, provide and install required supports. G. Install 24-inch raceway reuse supply between Distribution Box 2 and elbow installed in Bid Item 1, including pipe, fittings, and supports, and flow meter. H. Install Stairway Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and permits to construct D-Box 2 expansion and expand reuse system at the Department's Soos Creek Hatchery, located at 13030 SE Auburn-Black Diamond Road, Auburn, Washington 98092 in King County
