Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Eastport, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
General scope of work: Removal of existing pedestals and installation of new pedestals at Barnes Park Campground, 12298 Barnes Park Road, Eastport, MI. Permitting: All necessary permits are the responsibility of the Contractor The time for completion may be extended if reasonable explanation can be provided to the County. The time of extension is completely at the discretion of the County. Licensing - Permitting: The Contractor must be licensed and is responsible for obtaining the permits necessary to complete the work. The bid must include the cost of obtaining such permits and all labor necessary to complete the job. Bid Specifications The Specifications are for informational purposes only. The accuracy of the Specifications is not guaranteed. 1. Contractor is responsible for the following: a. Contractor shall verify service is adequate for this project. If not, include the upgrade of the service in the bid total. b. Removal and disposal of existing pedestals and any other wiring or materialsof campsites receiving new pedestals. c. Installation of 19 new electric pedestals at campsites 51, 55, 56, 57, 58, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 67, 68, 69, 70, 70B, 71, 73, 74. New pedestals must be 50-Amp 240-Volt, 30- Amp 120-Volt and 120-Volt GFCI Outlet. All new pedestals shall be located in the same location as previous pedestals. d. Site 54 pedestal needs to be re-located, but not replaced. Confirm location with Parks Director. 2. The above work shall include trenching and backfilling. 3. Pedestals shall be protected against rodents with an application of mouse-proof foam, an infill of pea stones, and an additional application of mouse-proof foam. Other methods of rodent protection are allowed if approved by the Parks Director. 4. Special care shall be taken throughout the project to prevent any unnecessary tree damage. 5. The Contractor shall be responsible for marking of existing wires. 6. The Contractor shall be responsible for contacting Miss Dig and have utilities marked before any work commences. 7. The Contractor shall make any necessary arrangements with Great Lakes Energy, the electric company. 8. The Contractor must work closely with the Parks Director regarding the placement of the new pedestals. 9. All construction debris must be removed by the Contractor before the project is considered complete. The Contractor must observe all laws and ordinances governing the disposal of debris. 10. During the project, the Contractor shall take care to adequately barricade any portion of the project that is unsafe to the public. 11. The Contractor shall be responsible for the following: Power company fees, site restoration, cutting or replacement of concrete or pavement, and repairs to any unmarked utilities. 12. Before any cutting or replacement of concrete or pavement commences, the Parks Director must be consulted. 13. Subcontracting for portions of the project is allowed. Acceptance and Rejection of Bids: The Contractor chosen by Antrim County shall not discriminate against any worker, employee, or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, height, weight, marital status, national origin, ancestry, sex, age, (except where requirements as to age is based upon a bona fide occupational qualification), or disability (that is unrelated to the individual's ability to perform duties of a particular job or position) pursuant to 1976 PA 453, as amended, MCL 37.2101 et seq. (Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act).The County of Antrim reserves the right to accept and/or reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularity in a bid, and to accept that bid which, in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, is in the best interest of the County. It is the intention of the Board to award all work to a single bidder. This project must be completed in the fall to reduce the risk of spreading oak wilt. After a contract has been negotiated and signed, materials can be ordered. As the campground is open to camping until October 28, no work shall take place onsite until October 29, 2024. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond duly executed by a surety company approved by the owner and payable to the owner for 5% of the total amount of the bid. A certified check, drawn in the owner's name, may be used in lieu of a bid bond.
