Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Grandville, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The Contractor hereby agrees to furnish all material, equipment, supervision and labor necessary to perform all of the work shown on the drawings and described in the Specifications for the project entitled 36TH STREET, 31ST STREET, & WALLACE AVENUE WATER MAIN CITY OF GRANDVILLE KENT COUNTY, MICHIGAN all in accordance with the requirements and provisions of the Contract. The Contractor likewise agrees to do all incidental and appurtenant work in connection therewith, all in accordance with the Plans and Specifications, prepared for the Owner by Moore & Bruggink, Inc., Consulting Engineers, which Plans and Specifications are made a part of this Contract. It is anticipated that this Project will be awarded at the regular City Council meeting on Monday, May 13, 2024 Bids will be on the basis of unit prices as listed on the Bid Form, and may only be submitted using the e bidding system. The approximate quantities of major items of work are as follows: 4,500 Ft 8 inch Water Main C909 PVC 1,300 Ft 1 inch Copper Water Service Type K 7,800 Syd 8 inch Aggregate Base MDOT 21AA Modified 20,000 Syd HMA Surface Removal 4,900 Tons HMA 4,500 Ft Concrete Curb & Gutter 8,400 Sft Concrete Sidewalk Manholes, Catch Basins, Valves, Hydrants, Fittings, Restoration, and all appurtenant work. Only Bidders who have been prequalified by the City of Grandville within the required days in advance of the bid opening in accordance with the Information for Bidders section will have their bids opened and read. This project will be entirely funded by the City of Grandville; no federal or state grants are involved. All Proposals shall be made in accordance with the Bidding Documents. A Proposal Guarantee payable to the City of Grandville, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, must accompany the Proposal in accordance with the Information for Bidders. The right is reserved by the City of Grandville to accept any Proposal, reject any or all Proposals, and to waive informalities in bidding when it is deemed to be in the interest of the City of Grandville. Engineer's Estimate: $2,232,477.00 Allows zero unit prices and labor No Allows negative unit prices and labor No The undersigned, as bidder, declares that he has familiarized himself with the location of the proposed work and the conditions under which it must be constructed; also that he has carefully examined the plans, specifications, and contract documents, which he understands and accepts as sufficient for the purpose of constructing said work and agrees that he will contract with the City of Grandville to furnish labor, material, tools, and equipment necessary to do all the work specified and prescribed and will accept in full payment, therefore, the unit prices stated in the item list. In submitting this Proposal, it is understood that the right is reserved by the City of Grandville to reject any or all Proposals and to waive any irregularities in bidding. It is agreed that this Proposal may not be withdrawn for 30 calendar days from the opening thereof. Should there be reasons why the contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the City of Grandville and the Bidder. It is anticipated that the City of Grandville may award this Contract at the meeting of May 13, 2024 Accompanying this Proposal is a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to the City of Grandville, which it is agreed will be forfeited to said City of Grandville if the undersigned fails to enter into a contract in conformity with the form of contract incorporated herein and furnish the required bonds and insurance as specified within ten calendar days after notification of award. The undersigned further agrees to complete all work on or before July 11, 2025. If the undersigned does not finish the work within the time specified, the City of Grandville, or its duly-authorized representative, because of the difficulty in estimating damages, is authorized to retain out of the money which may be due or become due, the sum of $1,500.00 for each calendar day by which the Contractor shall fail to complete the work, said sum to constitute liquidated damages and not a penalty. Bids will only be read only from Bidders who have been prequalified by the City of Grandville within the past twelve (12) months. A bidder who has not been so prequalified must file a financial statement and experience questionnaire on forms furnished by Moore & Bruggink, Inc., 2020 Monroe Avenue NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
