Please obtain documents through the means listed in the invitation to bid.*" Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid: The Metropolitan Transportation Authority ("MTA") and Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority (TBTA, acting by and through the MTA Construction and Development Company ("MTA C&D"), will be issuing a two-step Request for Proposals ("RFP"), in order to identify and engage a qualified Design-Builder to provide design-build services for the design, construction, and installation of a main cable dehumidification system on the four cables of the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge. Respondents who are selected by MTA C&D in the RFQ process will be eligible to participate in the upcoming Request for Proposals ("RFP"). MTA C&D intends to award a design-build contract (the "Design-Build Contract") at the conclusion of the RFP process. Through this procurement process, MTA C&D plans to secure the services of a Design[1]Builder for the design, construction and installation of a main cable dehumidification system on the four cables of the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge to preserve the strength of the main cables. The project also includes installation of associated electrical and communication systems, maintenance and monitoring of the new main cable dehumidification system for 5 years after commissioning, internal inspection of main cable panels, replacement of all cable band bolts, replacement of the main cable aerial obstruction lights and supports, replacement of the messenger cables, the installation of an acoustic monitoring system on all four cables, maintenance and monitoring of the acoustic monitoring system for 5 years after commissioning, and the replacement of the hand ropes and stanchions.
