Interested parties (General Contractors) are invited to submit a response to this Single Use Request for Qualifications (SURFQ). This opportunity is to evaluate and establish, a short list of Qualified Respondents. Those shortlisted, will be invited to submit a proposal for the upgrade/renewal of a unit substation, UPS and other associated works. These works are located at the Fraser Regional Correctional Centre, 13777 256 St, Maple Ridge, BC V4R 1C9. In addition to the functional requirements noted above, the scope of work shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the supply and installation of the following. Please refer to electrical / unit substation and UPS scope of services below for details. Enlarge and shore up the existing door openings to facilitate the removal of the existing and installation of the replacement unit substation. Provide a temporary, rated and secured enclosure (with several rated egress doors/frames and related door hardware) to separate the construction area from all occupied spaces. Provide a temporary, outdoor rental transformer complete with grounding loop, metering and manholes/pullboxes for below ground intercepting and switching of power. The temporary transformer shall be situated over a reinforced concrete pad on compacted sub-base and perimeter protective bollards installed. Supply and route temporary conductors to the existing distribution section. Provide a replacement substation and reconnect the distribution section. Cut and patch the existing concrete slab required to install a new grounding grid for the sub-station. Prepare an existing wall to receive a replacement UPS Provide commissioning services for both the temporary transformer and replacement Substation and UPS. Upon replacement of the Substation and UPS, remediate all temporary works to an as new, fully functional state. Coordinate all facets of the electrical early works package, with other related base systems renewal work, managed by other General Contractors.
