Reference Number 0000348366 * Stop Bars and Crosswalks:
o Waterborne, hot tape, cold tape and thermoplastic markings must be removed,
recessed, and re-applied using Recessed Polyurea applied at 20-25 Mils with
retroreflective beads placed per manufacturers recommendation and at the direction
of the Macomb County Department of Roads inspector or engineer.
* Special Legend Pavement Markings:
o Waterborne, hot tape, cold tape and thermoplastic markings must be removed,
scarified, and re-applied using Recessed Polyurea applied at 20-25 Mils with
retroreflective beads placed per manufacturers recommendation at the direction of the
Macomb County Department of Roads inspector or engineer (reference the MCDR's
Special Pavement Marking).
* Scope area:
o Complete log/lists of locations county-wide provided by the MCDR, including stop bars,
crosswalks, RR crossings, school zones, and roundabout markings. If there are no
available logs, the general plan is to start at one end of a county road and proceed
down its length, completing locations with less than 60% of the markings in place.
Once that county roadway is complete, move on to the next roadway, as directed by
the MCDR inspector or engineer.
* Maintaining Traffic:
o The contractor must follow the current MMUTCD and MDOT Maintaining Traffic
Typical. Most of the contract is 5 lane roads with left turn lanes and some with right
turn lanes. General Requirements - Bid Deposit Required - FOB Destination - Installation Required - Insurance Required A satisfactory Bid Bond, Certified or Cashier's Check, Bank Money Order, or Certificate of Deposit on an open, solvent bank in the amount of not less than 5% of the total bid and made payable to the Macomb County Department of Roads shall be submitted with the bid. *The MCDR at its discretion reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in the bidding process and to make the award as may appear to be in the best interest of the County of Macomb. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids for at least 45 days.
