The purpose of this geotechnical investigation was to provide recommendations concerning design and construction of the proposed sheet pile and evaluate stability of the sheet pile wall against a global rotational failure, subgrade preparation, and construction requirements for the proposed Woodlands Hills Development project - sheet pile retaining walls for tributary 4Y-1. The scope of services included drilling soil boring, performing laboratory testing, and preparing this geotechnical services report. This report briefly outlines the available project information, describes the site and subsurface conditions, and presents the recommendations regarding the following: Drill and sample a total of 1 geotechnical boring to a depth of 80 feet below existing ground surface at the location of proposed sheet pile which was selected by the client. The boring location is shown in Appendix B. Obtaining both disturbed and relatively undisturbed soil samples from the borings with continuous samples being taken from the ground surface to a depth of 12 feet and intermittently thereafter. Measuring the depth to groundwater during drilling and within 15 minutes after groundwater is initially encountered. Backfilling the borings with soil cuttings after the completion of drilling activities. Performing geotechnical laboratory tests on soil samples recovered during drilling in order to properly classify the site soils, develop engineering design parameters for use in our engineering analyses, and develop engineering design parameters that will support our conclusions and recommendations. Preparing boring log based on the results of the laboratory tests and visual soil classifications. Complete engineering analyses in order to develop data and parameters (short term and longterm conditions) that may be used for the design and construction of the proposed sheet pile wall and evaluate stability of the sheet pile wall against a global rotational failure. Submitting a pdf file of the report that presents the results of the geotechnical investigation. The scope of services for this geotechnical study did not include an environmental assessment for determining the presence or absence of wetlands, or hazardous or toxic materials in the soil, surface water, groundwater, or air on or below, or around this site. Any statements in this report or on the boring log regarding odors, colors, and unusual or suspicious items or conditions are strictly for informational purposes. An Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is advisable prior to construction.
