Renovation of an educational facility in Midland, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Midland Public Schools is seeking bids from qualified and licensed vendors for the demolition of an existing wheelchair lift and replacing it with a new wheelchair lift specified in this RFP. The demolition and installation site will be Jefferson Middle School 800 W. Chapel Ln. Midland, Mi 48640. The area of work is indicated on the included floor plan with measurements of existing equipment. The new lift shall be a lift manufactured by Freedom Lift Systems and meet all the specifications in the attached drawings. The district will accept alternate equipment if the equipment meets or exceeds the quality standards and options of the specified piece of equipment. The district will be the sole judge of equivalency. This is a turnkey project. The contractor is responsible for ensuring all permits are acquired through the State of Michigan and the lift is licensed and fully functional before payment will be issued from Midland Public Schools. A Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the installation price of the Base Bid shall accompany each proposal. The Bid Security may be in the form of a Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, or Money Order. Personal checks are not acceptable The successful contractor will be required to pay prevailing wage. Please see the attached documentation for this project. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all item(s) in the bid; to accept or reject any or all bid(s); to waive any informalities therein; or for any reason, to award the contract to other than the low bidder. If a unit price or extended price is obviously in error and the other is obviously correct, the incorrect price will be disregarded. Bids will be accepted at which time bids will be opened and read aloud for presentation to the Board of Education at their next regularly scheduled meeting. No oral, telephonic, or facsimile proposals will be considered. NO proposals will be considered after the time of closing of bids One (1) copy of the bid form should be retained for your files.
