For the Engineering Study and Conceptual Design Services for the BNSF West Track Grade Separation Preliminary Engineering Study 88 trains per day utilize the western BNSF railroad tracks (Emporia Subdivision) in Olathe resulting in potential delays and unreliable travel time. This project will provide conceptual engineering to improve the reliability of east-west travel time in western Olathe by analyzing changes to the existing BNSF crossings between Woodland Road and Dennis Avenue, including a mixture of closures, grade separated crossings, traffic rerouting and the concept of raising the western BNSF railroad tracks between Woodland Road and Dennis Avenue.
