Project Description: West Virginia University at Parkersburg is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to renovate their existing bookstore. Renovations include reducing the size of the current bookstore to allow space for (5) five administrative offices, a reception area, lobby, computer lab, breakroom, and a conference room. Clarifications requested by the Bidder must be submitted in writing on or before 4:00 pm April 23, 2024. The reply will be in the form of an addendum, a copy of which will be forwarded to all Contractors who have attended the prebid meeting. It is the responsibility of the bidding Contractor to make all Subcontractors aware of such addenda. Work must be completed by July 31, 2024. Liquidated Damages: The contractor agrees that from the compensation otherwise to be paid, the Owner may retain $250.00 for each day thereafter, Sundays and holidays included, that the work remains uncompleted, which sum is agreed upon as the proper measure of liquidated damages which the Owner will sustain per diem, by the failure of the Contractor to complete the Work at the stipulated time, and the sum is not to be construed in any sense a penalty. Bidders will be required to provide a Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than five (5%) percent of the Bid Amount. The successful Bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds. Contractor will be responsible for acquiring all permits. Your offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers and to waive any minor irregularities in bids.
