Construction of a new "twin span" international bridge immediately adjacent to the western side of the existing international bridge. Scope of work includes but is not limited to drilled shafts, concrete substructure & superstructure concrete bridge rail, bridge lighting, signage, overhead sign bridges, striping, fencing, etc. Work on the project shall commence on the date specified in the Notice to Proceed, which shall be no later than 15 calendar days after the Notice is issued. The Contractor shall achieve Substantial Completion ofthe work within 480 CALENDAR DAYS A Bidder's Bond from a reliable surety company licensed to operate in the State of Texas, or certified Cashier's Check payable without recourse to the City of Pharr, for the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted via a sealed envelope as a guaranty that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract with the City of Pharr. The bid bond shall be submitted before the bid opening date and time. Failure to submit the bid security shall be grounds for disqualification Eligible bidders must submit a Statement of Qualifications that includes the information requested in Item 2L of the Proposal. In the event that the total amount bid is $25,000 or less, the successful contractor has the option to enter into a single payment contract with the City of Pharr in lieu of a Payment and Performance Bond.
