The City of Nanaimo requires temporary summer inspection services for on-going civil projects. The assigned individual or individuals will be responsible for field reviews, coordinating changes to the work, contract administration assistance, record keeping including redlines and adherence of materials and workmanship to the City of Nanaimo Manual of Engineering Standards and Specifications (MoESS) and other relevant bylaws, between May 1st and August 31st with an estimated 20 - 25 hours per week. 1. Perform field reviews of the work, as required, to verify that the work is proceeding in conformance with the approved design and in accordance with all applicable standards and specifications, 2. Conduct reviews of shop drawings during construction, 3. Submit field review reports complete with pictures, 4. Review and comment on testing and proposed design changes, 5. On-going coordination with City staff and Contract Administrator, 6. Attendance at pre-construction meeting(s) and weekly progress meeting(s) where quality and/or changes to the work will be discussed, 7. Maintain up to date redlines, 8. Permit reviews and approvals (as applicable), 9. Conduct development Inspections (as applicable).
