Question Deadline 05/08/2024 at 2:00 PM CT University may consider alternate proposals submitted by qualified responsive firms in determining an award. Respondents submitting alternate proposals shall clearly identify any exceptions taken to the requirements listed herein, and include a detailed description of the alternate(s) proposed. Respondent(s) may suggest additions to the requirements with respect to the scope of work or services performed. All such suggestions shall be clearly defined. Alternate proposals shall be submitted as an attachment to your base proposal (RFP) package. Possible subcontracting opportunities may include but not limited to scope of services identified in the Project. All section headings are for convenience of reference only and are not intended to define or limit the scope of any provisions of this RFP. Contractor to provide all tools, labor, and equipment to perform total maintenance, testing, and inspection of the fire suppression systems and each of their components in accordance with the most current State of Texas Fire Code as witnessed by the University of Houston-Clear Lake Fire Marshal. All maintenance to be performed by and in accordance with the State of Taxes Fire Code and applicable National Fire Protection Association Codes. Complete and total maintenance including, but not limited to, incidental and/or emergency service calls shall be the responsibility of the contactor and qualified fire suppression system technician employed by the contractor. Service calls shall be initiated by the Contract Administrator or his representative. Contractor shall not subcontract work to any other contractor without expressed written permission by the Contract Administrator. Operational and all tests of the Fire Suppression Systems shall be performed in accordance with the most current state of Taxes Fire Code. All tests shall be performed by the contractor and/or qualified fire suppression system technician employed by the contractor. All tests and inspections shall be witnessed by University of Houston-Clear Lake Fire Marshal and/or as directed by the University Fire Marshal. Any questions arising from code interpretation shall be addressed to the University of Houston-Clear Lake Fire Marshal. The decision of the University Fire Marshal shall be binding. There are a total of eight back flow devices. University may require additional insurance coverages and/or limits depending on the nature and scope of the contract. Provide a customer reference list of no less than three (3) organizations with which your company currently has contracts with and/or has previously provided water-based fire suppression system inspection, testing and maintenance service of equal type and scope within the past five (5) years. Reference list to include, company name, contact person, and telephone number, contract description, length of business relationship and any special requirements. University makes no guarantee that an award will be made as a result of this RFP, and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, waive any formalities or minor technical inconsistencies, or delete any item/requirements from this RFP or resulting contract when deemed to be in the University's best interest. Representations made within the proposal will be binding on responding firms.
