As of 4/22/2024 Owner withdraw the bid advertisement at this time because the capital improvement budget has not been passed. We plan on re-advertising this summer. It will probably be advertised in the paper. Replace nonconforming curb ramps with ADA compliant curb ramps at several intersections in the downtown area of Portsmouth. The City of Portsmouth reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bids or to accept in whole or in part such bid or bids as may be deemed in the best interest of the purchaser. All questions from bidders concerning interpretation of contract documents must be in writing and submitted at five (5) working days prior to scheduled bid opening by email to: nathan.prosch@portsmouthoh.org. Submit All Questions via Email. The contractor shall maintain such insurance as will protect him from claims under the Workers' Compensation Act and other claims for damage under this contract. Such insurance shall be in the amount of $100,000/$300,000 or more. Certification of such insurance shall be filed with the City Engineering office. The Contractor will be required to meet OSHA and City of Portsmouth safety requirements. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid in the form of a Bid/Performance/Payment Bond, Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Irrevocable Letter of Credit. Such Bond shall be returned to all unsuccessful bidders upon award of the contract. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance/Payment Bond in an amount equal to the contract amount. TIME OF WORK: Projected start date for this project is June 1, 2024. Completion date is October 31, 2024. The City Manager reserves the right to accept or to reject any and all bids, should he deem it to be for the best interests of the Owner, and to hold all bids for thirty (30) days before final acceptance thereof.
