Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Williamsburg, Ontario. Design plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Bridge replacement, located east of Williamsburg Ontario, the Nash Creek Bridge is a 7.5m wide by 11.5m slab on I-Girders (steel) bridge. TIMELINE: An RFP for engineering services has been awarded. The last bridge inspection (2023) noted that the structure was in "fair" condition and will be due for replacement in 2026. The engineering firm will complete an engineering evaluation to assess a range of replacement alternatives and recommend the ultimate solution that should be implemented. The alternatives to be considered as part of the evaluation include: replacement with a traditional bridge structure, replacement with a modular bridge or replacement with large diameter culverts. Based on a review of upstream crossings, the consultant should also consider replacement with a pre-cast culvert.
