The City of Grande Prairie (the "City) is requesting detailed and comprehensive proposals for an engineering consulting firm to provide services to examine and test in-service traffic signal poles and other structures (pylon signs and scoreclocks). Examination of materials, welds, attachments, bolts, fixtures, connections, and other items will be performed using both Visual Testing (VT) and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods, which include Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and straight beam Ultrasonic Testing (UT). The focus of this project is on the examination of the structural components. The operational aspects of the traffic signal (heads, buttons, signs, etc.) will be assessed by internal City forces.
