The Sequoia Avenue Grade Crossing Improvements project will design and construct new safety enhancements, including new vehicle and pedestrian crossing gates, striping and signage, and traffic signal improvements, at the Sequoia Avenue railroad crossing at Los Angeles Avenue. In conjunction with the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA, Metrolink) Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion (SCORE) project, the project will enable the City to apply to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) for Quiet Zones. Project funding is through a Budget Appropriation from the State of California. This project has been included in the City of Simi Valley's FY 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Per the City of Simi Valley, as of August 22, 2024, the design consultant was pre-selected by Metrolink/SCRRA. The City states that they are acting as a pass-through for state funding and is not actively administering this project. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
