Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; for the renovation of a parking garage; and transportation facility.

Des Moines International Airport's (DSM) existing Purple Economy Lot (Adjacent to the current Rental Car Quick Turn-Around Facility) will be the new home to a Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC). The proposed development will reconfigure and expand the existing Purple Lot, allowing the existing rental car operators to consolidate and meet their current and future demands at DSM. Adjacent to the Quick Turn-Around Facility, the new ConRAC will economize operations and enhance customer experience. The main components of the new ConRAC will include: A Customer Service Building to house Rental Car transactions, Administration Offices, Restroom Facilities, and support spaces. Rental Car return and rental parking. Secure vehicle entry and exit plazas. Bus Plaza. Visitor Parking. Work on the improvements shall be commenced any time after a written Notice to Proceed is issued and shall be completed as stated below. The Notice to Proceed will be issued after the preconstruction conference, which is expected to occur in May 2024. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract corporate Surety Performance and Payment Bond(s), in a form acceptable to the Board, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. The Bidder's security shall be in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the Bid and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a Bid Bond on the form provided in the Contract Documents with corporate Surety satisfactory to the Board. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Each successful Bidder will be required to furnis corporate Surety Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its Contract price. Said Bonds shall be issued by a responsible Surety approved by the Des Moines Airport Authority and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the Des Moines Airport Authority from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two (2) years from and after acceptance of the Contract. The Des Moines Airport Authority is pleased to provide accommodations to individuals with disabilities or groups and encourages participation.To better serve you, please notify us at least three business days in advance, when possible, at 515-256-5100, should special accommodation be required. This project shall be fully completed no later than October 10, 2025. The Des Moines Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the Authority. The Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for the Work is between $20,600,000 and $22,780,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
