The project consists of the construction of approximately 10,926 linear feet of 48-inch inside-diameter sanitary sewer via curved and straight slurry microtunneling through soil, mixed-face (soil and rock), and rock ground conditions along the Central College Road and Harlem Road alignments, including crossings beneath Rocky Fork Creek and existing gas mains. The 48-inch reinforced concrete jacking pipe is provided with an internal cast-in-place HDPE stud liner for corrosion protection. The project also includes approximately 63 linear feet of 18- inch, 82 linear feet of 8-inch, and 70 linear feet of 12-inch sanitary sewer installed by open cut and installation of twelve (12) manholes. Construction also includes four (4) jacking pits, five (5) receiving pits, and eight (8) microtunnel drives. The project will include bypass pumping and abandonment of the existing 24-inch Sugar Run Subtrunk, dewatering, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, contact grouting, site restoration, maintenance of traffic, and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract as shown on the detailed drawings and as specified in the contract specifications.
