Renovation of an educational facility in Kearny, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project involves selective removals, general construction, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, finish work including ceramic tile, painting and other associated work. Separate sealed Bid Packages for the following Contract will be received: Single Overall Contract Kearny Board of Education High School Culinary Lab & 3rd Floor Toilet Renovations Kearny, New Jersey Due to the nature of this work, bidders must have one of the following State of New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) Classifications to be eligible to bid this project: C008 General Construction, Or C009 General Construction, Alterations and Additions All questions with regard to the bid must be received by the Architect, Fallon+Pacheco Architects, no later than FRIDAY, MAY 24TH, 2024. All questions must be submitted in written form. Bids shall be delivered in person to the office of the Business Administrator/Board Secretary between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on official business days. All questions must be submitted in written form. If a bid exceeds twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00), the bidder and all general construction and subcontractors must be prequalified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction, as required by law and have a valid and current Notice of Classification prior to the date that bids are received. Any bid submitted under the terms of the New Jersey statutes not including a copy of a valid and active prequalification/classification certificate may be rejected as non-responsive to bid requirements. Bids must be submitted on the proposal forms in the manner designated, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of bidder and proposal identification number on the outside, and must be accompanied by certified check, cashiers check or bid bond drawn to the order of the Kearny Board of Education, for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but in no case in excess of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00); and must be delivered to the Business Administrator at the above place, by the hour named. The Board of Education and Architects assume no responsibility for bids mismailed or misdirected. Each bidder shall submit with its bid, a Certificate of Consent of Surety as per N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25 from a Surety company stating that it will provide the bidder and all subcontractors, if successful, with a performance/payment bond in the full amount of the contract. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The Kearny Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive informality in the bidding if it is in the interest of the Board of Education to do so. The contract(s) will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder(s). Bidding shall be in conformance with the applicable requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. All bidders must be pre-qualified as required by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (NJSDA). The drawings and specifications (dated 8 April 2024) originally issued and Addendum No. 1, dated 24 April 2024 will still apply to the project.
