Watchung Pump Station Renovation & Force Main Replacement. Questions may be submitted, in writing, to the Project Manager, Tyler B. Evans at tyler.evans@collierseng.com, no later than Thursday, April 25th, 2024. Bids must be made on the standard Bid Forms in the manner designated in the Contract Documents, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the Bidder, and the name of the project on the outside and be addressed to Cynthia Blake, Purchasing Agent, City of Plainfield, and must be accompanied by a statement of Consent of Surety from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the City of Plainfield in either a Bid Bond, Certified or Cashier's Check drawn to the order of "City of Plainfield" for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, not to exceed a maximum of $20,000.00. Bidders are hereby notified that a performance bond for the full amount of the project will be required. The award of the Contract for this project is subject to the availability of the necessary funds by the City of Plainfield Solid Waste & Sewer Utility. The City of Plainfield Solid Waste & Sewer Utility or the Engineer reserves the right to require a complete experience statement from prospective bidders showing that they have satisfactorily completed work of the nature required before awarding the Contract. Bids for this Contract will only be accepted from bidders who have properly qualified in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The right is also reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of the City of Plainfield Solid Waste & Sewer Utility. Further, the City of Plainfield Solid Waste & Sewer Utility reserves the right to abandon the project and reject all bids if any legal or state or federal administrative action is taken against the City of Plainfield Solid Waste & Sewer Utility that could delay or jeopardize the project from commencing. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designated in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder shall be required to comply with the Affirmative Action requirements (P.L. 1975, C.127, N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 et seq.), and. the provisions of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.) and such other requirements as set forth in the Contract Documents. Bidders will be required to comply with the public disclosure provisions of N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2.
