Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; playground / park / athletic field; water / sewer project; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The project consists of selective site demolition and disposal of some existing athletic fields and existing track and field throwing event slabs and chain link fence enclosures, football goal posts, existing concrete curb and gutter, and existing water main; site development work consisting of excavation and grading for a new storm water detention basin, a new football field/soccer pitch, and new shot put, discus, and hammer throwing event slabs with sand pits; new water distribution and site storm drainage utilities for the new field/pitch; new concrete walks, steps, and parking areas; construction of a new synthetic turf practice football field and soccer pitch complete with field accessories; track and field throwing event accessories; new chain link fences and gates and track and field enclosures; miscellaneous plumbing work to the field/pitch sidelines; electrical work for future sports lighting and scoreboard; and other miscellaneous items with all of the work appurtenant thereto per the plans and specifications. BP 02.01 Site Demolition, Earthwork, and Utilities - This package includes site prep and erosion control measures; selective site demolition and disposal of existing athletic fields and existing track and field throwing event slabs and chain link fence enclosures, football goal posts, existing concrete curb and gutter, and existing water main; earthwork consisting of stripping, and cut/fill rough grading to proposed contours; and site utility work related to storm sewer and drainage main piping and structures and water distribution; all per the documents. BP 02.02 Fences and Gates - This package includes selective demolition, track and field chain link enclosures, fences and gates at the perimeter of the new field/pitch, and security fences and gates at the perimeter of the site, all per the documents. Specific information pertaining to the bid package scope of work is outlined in the project manual. BP 02.03 Natural Turf and Plantings - This package includes all plantings as scheduled, fine grading and prepping of seeded areas, and seeding per the documents. Specific information pertaining to the bid package scope of work is outlined in the project manual. BP 03.01 Concrete Parking and Walks - This package includes selective demolition, concrete flatwork for sidewalks and parking lot pavement, new hammer throw, shot put and discus event slabs and pits, joint sealants for expansion, construction, and slab isolation joints, and parking lot signage per the documents. Specific information pertaining to the bid package scope of work is outlined in the project manual. BP 13.01 Synthetic Football and Soccer Turf - This package includes excavation, earthwork, storm sewer subdrain, rock subbase, and rough carpentry specific to the construction of the new field/pitch; new hammer throw, shot put and discus event pits complete with track and field accessories; and construction of a new synthetic turf practice football field and soccer pitch complete with field accessories and hand holes for water and electrical access within surface per the documents. Specific information pertaining to the bid package scope of work is outlined in the project manual. Any/all questions are to be submitted electronically via Building Connected website. Questions can be submitted at any time but must be submitted no later than 12:00 PM on April 19, 2024. Responses to questions received will be published as a clarification document and posted to Building Connected by 12:00 PM on April 22, 2024. The Construction Manager and/or Owner will review, and score submitted Preapproval Forms based upon an objective scoring process and statutory criteria. Submissions meeting or exceeding minimum scoring criteria shall be deemed as an approved bidder for the project. The Construction Manager and/or Owner retain the right to reject any/all submission documents if documentation is deemed flawed, incomplete, or insufficient to properly score.
