Renovation of an educational facility in Hazel, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
This project consists of installation of a new HVAC heating hot water system and domestic water heating system to serve Racer Arena and Carr Hall, installation of a new generator provided by the owner, and associated electrical upgrades. Demolition work includes demolition of existing HVAC units, associated ductwork, steam piping, condensate piping, hydronic piping, controls, and associated electrical. New work consists of hydronic piping, domestic water heaters, heating hot water boilers, hydronic pumps, HVAC controls and electrical upgrades. Associated architectural work includes construction of a new mechanical room, patching and painting of existing walls and floors, and modifications to existing roof for new penetrations. Final Completion is 353 days from project start date. BONDING All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Murray State University is committed to increasing the participation of minority business enterprises in construction and renovation projects, and encourages the use of minority subcontractors and material suppliers. All contractors should make an effort to locate and use minority business enterprises in bidding this project. The successful contractor will be asked to supply associated contract amounts rounded to the nearest $500.00 prior to the signing of a contract. Murray State University, Procurement Services, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served.
