The Town of Swanzey (the Town) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms (Contractors) for road paving. Paving will be on the following roads: Aldrich Road (east): Taft Rd to end (825 ft x 22 ft) - Shim & Overlay Aldrich Road (west): Whitcomb Rd to end (530 ft x 26 ft) - Pave Base & Wearing Course Cobble Hill Road: (1,100 ft x 22 ft) End of existing pavement 1,100 ft westerly - Pave Base & Wearing Course Oliver Hill Rd: Rt 32 to Whitcomb Rd (2,310 ft x 22 ft) - Shim & Overlay Oliver Hill Rd: Whitcomb Rd to end (1,600 ft x 18 ft) - Pave Base & Wearing Course Safford Drive: Rt 32 to Page Court (1,400 ft x 28 ft) - Overlay 1-1/2" Taft Road: Webber Hill Road to end (2,180 ft x 18 ft) - Shim & Overlay Talbot Hill Road: Hackler Drive westerly (1,600 ft x 11ft) - Mill & Overlay Tack coat subsidiary to paving. Sweeping of millings subsidiary to cold planing Special Conditions: All paving operations on Safford Drive to be coordinated with Nanotech, 232 Old Homestead Highway (Rt 32) Safford Drive to be overlayed with 1/2 " mix, 1-1/2" thick. All other roads to be shimmed and overlayed with 3/8" mix. Overlay to be 1" thick. Gravel roads to be graded by the Town. Base pavement 2" thick compacted of 3/4 " base, wearing course 1" compacted of 3/8" mix. All paving to be complete by November 1, 2024 Estimated Project Cost: $425,000.00 The Town of Swanzey reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or accept the proposal the Town deems to be in its best interest, regardless of the lowest proposal amount. The Town reserves the right to request additional data or information or a presentation in support of written proposals, however the Town may award a contract based on the offers received, without additional submissions. The proposal should be submitted on the most favorable terms, from all aspects, which the contractor can submit. The Town reserves all rights to negotiate with the contractor of its choice based not solely upon cost, but on the qualifications and ability of the contractor to perform, consistent with the Town's intent, requirements, time schedule, and funds availability. The Town further reserves the right to: o Not award a contract for the requested services; o Waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposals; o Accept the proposal deemed to be the most beneficial to the public and the Town; o Negotiate and accept, without advertising, the proposal of any other company in the event a contract cannot be successfully negotiated with the selected firm; and o Retain products submitted by companies for its own use at its sole discretion.
