As of May 20, 2024 Project was cancelled. Project is no longer needed. The scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: selective demolition, concrete pavement replacement, concrete curb & gutter replacement, concrete curb cutting, detectable warnings, and joint sealants. The work sites are Geneva Middle School North, 1357 Viking Drive, and Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive, located in Geneva, IL 60134. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish construction performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the final Contract Sum. The Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The on-site construction is scheduled to commence during the district's 2024 summer break starting approximately on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, with a Substantial Completion date of Friday, August 2, 2024. Liquidated damages apply to the Substantial Completion date. Refer to the Project Manual for additional schedule information. Required prequalification documentation listed in the Project Manual must be submitted in Adobe PDF format to the district's Architect via the email address listed above on or before 4:00 p.m. Central Time on Friday, May 3, 2024. The Contractor will be required to submit electronic copies of their certified payrolls with each application for payment using the Illinois Department of Labor's Prevailing Wage Portal. The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
