Mechanical, electrical, and temperature controls scope of work for the installation of new lighting fixtures and fume extraction hoods for the welding & machine shops located in Building H. Bid security in the form of bid bond in an amount equal to 10 percent (10%) of the aggregate of the Base Bid amount and all Alternate Bid amounts shall be submitted with the bid. Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful bidder. Bids shall be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to: Harper College, Purchasing Department, located in A-Building, Room A-217, 1200 W. Algonquin Road; Palatine, Illinois 60067. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety days after submission without the consent of the Board of Trustees. Any bid submitted unsealed, unsigned, fax transmission, e-mail, or received subsequent to the aforementioned date and time, may be disqualified and returned to the bidder. Harper College reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the College. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all Contractors working on public works. Bidder must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws. Contractors shall pay not less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). Additional digital copies of the construction documents shall also be available on compact disk from the printer at no additional cost upon deposit and pickup of a hard copy set of the construction documents.
