Renovation of an educational facility in Mobile, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Work of the project includes, but is not limited to: Interior Selective demolition of existing improvements at the Fredericka G. Evans Cultural Center on the Bishop State Community College Main Campus. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to BISHOP STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds, insurance in compliance with requirements, and verification of E-Verify enrollment will be required at the signing of the Contract. Refunds will be issued for printed sets only issued by the Architect to each general contract bidder on the first two (2) sets issued submitting a bonafide bid, upon return of documents in good and reusable condition within ten (10) days of bid date. Additional sets for General Contractors, and sets for subs and vendors, may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less cost of printing, reproduction, handling and distribution, which is estimated to be the same as the deposit amount. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, and must show such evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by Architect or Owner; The bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered; Bidder must also include their current license number on the Proposal Form. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of SIXTY (60) days. For the list of plan holders on this project visit online. This project is being bid EXCLUDING TAXES, and requires the Contractor comply with the requirements of Act 2013-205, which was signed into law on May 9, 2013. The Contractor and the Owner will be required to apply for Certificates of Exemption with the Alabama Department of Revenue which will handle administration of the Certificates. The Contractor shall account for the tax savings on the Proposal Form. Additional qualifications and requirements for General Contractor Bidders and separate Subcontractors are indicated in the Bid and Contract Documents. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in their judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The Contractor may proceed to award sub-contracts, assemble materials, etc., at any time after award of Contract and "Notice To Proceed". The contractor's official time for construction to start on work shall be the earlier of either the date of the Owner's "Notice to Proceed" with Work or receipt of the fully executed Contract for the Work; and completion of the Work shall be within the stipulations indicated and the number of consecutive calendar days or by the date(s) indicated on the Contractor's Proposal Form. Contract time for the Substantial Completion of the work shall be September 6, 2024. 1. Existing site conditions and restrictions on use of the site. 2. Payment of all permits and fees required to execute the work. 3. Selective Interior Demolition of the Fredericka G. Evans Cultural Center on the Bishop Main Campus as indicated on the drawings; connections to existing improvements, temporary protections, and all related work. 4. The selective interior demolition project will prepare the Fredericka G. Evans Cultural Center for a separate future new interior renovation project. 5. The Facilities exterior envelopment willremain and shall be requiredtobe secured. 6. Selected demolition of existing Plumbing, mechanical, andelectrical systems, andall related work; Refer to Mechanical and Electrical Drawings for mechanical and electrical work related to this project and existing construction; Contractor is responsible for the complete coordination of all trades and work associated with the construction documents. 7. Site maintenance, to include daily clean-up or all work areas, coordination with Owner's requirements for removal and disposal of trash and construction debris. 8. Coordination of the Work of the entire project, including in part, with the BSCC Facility Director, Main Campus Director, and security requirements, and with other contractors working on the site. 9. Award will be made to the lowestresponsibleandresponsivebidder. Lowestwillbe determined by bid price. In addition to other requirements of the bid documents, delivery times (in calendar days) for equipment as provided on the Proposal Form will be used to determine the responsive and responsible bidder. a. Interior Demolition of existing HVAC trunk lines and diffusers, as indicated on the Drawings and in the Project Manual, and all related work. b. Interior Demolition of existing ceiling grid and tiles, as indicated on the Drawings and in the Project Manual, and all related work. c. Interior Demolitionof existing lightfixtures, as indicatedon theDrawings and in the Project Manual, and all related work. d. Interior Demolitionof existingdoors,doorframes andhardware, as indicated on the Drawings and in the Project Manual, and all related work. h. Removal of existing flooring and preparation of surface to receive new flooring, as indicated on the Drawings and in the Project Manual, and all related work. l. Provide coordination and provide for all costs and expenses related to accessibility and any limitations ofthe project site, to include coordination and all costs for, transporting, storage, temporary storage, temporary laydown, moving of materials and personnel in and out of the building, and all related work. m. Provide coordination and provide for all costs and expenses related to requirements for and limitations ofthe project site availability,projectwork hours, daily work hours, time frames / time of day or night. n. Contractoris responsible for all layout andcontrols relativetocompletionof theWork ofthe project. Immediate and written notificationshallbegivento the Architect of any discrepancies encountered, prior to proceeding with work in the affected area(s). o. The Owner will provide temporary electrical and water service for reasonable use by the Contractor; Refer to Division 1 Section "Temporary Facilities" for additional information and requirements. p. Completion dates for the Work are indicated on the Proposal Form.
