This project includes installation of approximately 11,670 SY of Two Course Surface Treatment over 6-inch reclaim of existing streets and the replacement of approximately 762 LF of curb & gutter and 233 LF of Valley Gutter. The bid also includes an alternate of 1-1/2-inches of HMAC in Lieu of the Two Course Surface Treatment. Email kschauer@kleinfelder.com if interested in bidding the project. Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total actual bid price payable without recourse to the City of Gonzales, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute required performance and payment bonds. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder; however, the right is reserved, as the interests of the OWNER may require, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality or minor defects in bids received. Bids may be held by the OWNER for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the opening for Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. There will not be a pre-bid conference. Contractors shall make their own individual site inspections and/or investigations to make themselves aware of existing conditions/issues. The scope is indicated on the accompanying Drawings and specified in applicable parts of these Contract Documents. In addition, the successful Bidder must comply with applicable TCEQ provisions related to the Texas Pollution Discharge Elimination System (TPDES). All items of work shall be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days, which time shall begin on the tenth day after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed by the OWNER.
