Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
New Metal Building to Be Supplied and Erected for a New Volunteer Fire Department Facility Project. The scope of work shall include the overall cost to supply and erect the metal building and components listed in that attached building plan and elevation drawing referenced as Exhibit "A". The initial phase of the project shall be to provide the building construction plans that will be used by Tuscaloosa County to have the foundation system designed. These plans will need to show the necessary information for foundation design including reaction loads and anchor bolt locations. Foundation and site preparation shall not be included in the scope of work for this RFP. Tuscaloosa County will be responsible for the site work and the foundation system necessary for the installation of this building. In addition, all plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, interior finishes shall not be included in this RFP submittal. Upon award of this RFP a standard color chart shall be provided to Tuscaloosa County to select the building and roof colors prior to ordering the building. Please provide a timeline for the building plans to be provided as well as an estimated delivery date for the building. Tuscaloosa County will provide a lay-down yard on-site for storage of building components as well as dry storage for components that may require that. The building shall be designed to have an open span within the perimeter walls. Building permitting shall not be included in the RFP submittal and will be the responsibility of Tuscaloosa County. The metal building should be standard gauge siding and roofing thickness with a red iron steel framing structure All inquiries and responses to this RFP must be submitted to Tracy Criss at Tuscaloosa County Public Works.
