CITY OF ASHTABULA 2024 PAVING PROGRAM The base bid will consist of pavement planing and resurfacing of approximately 13,940 LF (2.64 miles) of roadway sections throughout the City. The work includes the adjustment of manholes and catch basins located in the street sections as well as improvements to curb ramps to make them ADA accessible. The project will include minor pavement repair as deemed necessary. Alternate A will consist of pavement planing and resurfacing of approximately 265 LF (0.05 miles) of roadway section in Saybrook Township. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed by August 30, 2024. If, due to misconduct or neglect, the contractor fails to complete the contract on or before the completion dates specified in the proposal, the contractor agrees that each day the contract shall remain uncompleted after the dates, the owner may deduct the sum of five-hundred dollars ($500) per diem from the contract price. Bidders must comply with Wage Requirements for prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Ashtabula County and the City of Ashtabula, Ohio. No bidder shall be considered a responsive and responsible bidder or eligible to be awarded the contract to which this Notice applies, if the bidder is listed on the Auditor of States database as having a Finding of Recovery as that term is defined in O.R.C. 9.24. Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided and shall state the Unit Price or Lump Sum as indicated by the blanks provided therefore; and shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked on the outside 2024 PAVING PROGRAM with the contractors name, address, phone number, email address and contact name. The City of Ashtabula reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formalities or irregularities in bidding. Bid totals will be recorded on a bid tabulation sheet. The bid tabulation sheet will be signed by a minimum of two representatives of the City of Ashtabula. Once the bid is awarded, the bid tabulation sheet and any other documents pertaining to the project will then be considered public record per ORC 9.28. The review of the bids and distribution of a notice of award statement will be made as described in the bid documents.
