Reference Number 0000349250 Job Location: 2300 N Steele St Denver, Colorado United States 80205 The Denver Zoo invites single source supplier/installers to submit proposals for commercial glazing services for the Tropical Discovery Skylight Replacement project. As a leader in animal care, wildlife conservation, education and guest experience, the Denver Zoo seeks a commercial glazier capable of replacing the large skylight roof over the Tropical Discovery building within the following constraints: Time Constrains: 1. The Tropical Discovery building will be closed to the public for an 8-week period of time between mid-August and mid-October 2024. All work on the building (not including receiving materials, staging or site prep) must be completed within this time period. 2. The specific dates will be determined in collaboration with the contractor and Denver Zoo Project Manager. Demolition and Construction: 3. Removal and disposal of laminated glass, pressure bar and face cap from 1 to 4 sides of the south pyramid skylight over the Tropical Discovery building. 4. Clean and prepare openings. Install new 1 3/16 insulating laminated glass, pressure bar and face cap. Wet seal all new installations. Environment: 1. The skylight is suspended from a steel frame pyramid over a large atrium containing permanent animal exhibits, animal care team staff areas and visitor areas. 2. The exhibits cannot be moved during construction. 3. Portions of the building will remain open to select Denver Zoo Staff during construction. The glazier will work closely with the Denver Zoo Facilities PM to create a work plan to protect the permanent exhibits, animals and staff who will continue to occupy the building during construction.
