As of May 23, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. Interested parties are requested to submit sealed bids clearly marked "BID FOR PEARSE ROAD DRAINAGE AND ROADWAY UPGRADES". in accordance with the instructions contained within the invitation for bid (IFB), available by emailing procurement@swanseama.gov whereby a complete copy of the bid and specifications will be sent as an email attachment. Bid bond of 5% of total contract price must be provided with bids. Prevailing Wage rates apply. The successful bidder must commence on or before June 24 or within (10) calendar days after receiving a written Notice to Proceed and must substantially complete all work under the Base Bid prior to November 30, 2024, but work on school property must be substantially complete by August 24, 2024. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded within thirty days (30) days. The Town of Swansea may cancel this IFB or reject in whole or in part any and all proposals, if cancellation or rejection serves the best interest of the Town. The Town will award the bid to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Performance, labor and material bonds of 100% of contract price required at execution of contract. The work on the Pearse Road Drainage Improvements consists of the following: 1. Pavement resurfacing of approximately 1,000 feet of Pearse Road 2. Installation of water quality pond 3. Installation of drainage systems and control structure 4. Establishment of temporary erosion and sedimentation controls 5. Traffic management 6. Excavation and disposal of excess or unacceptable materials 7. Clear and grubbing 8. Site restoration following construction including loam and seed Every bid bond, every performance bond and every payment bond issued for any construction work in the commonwealth shall be the bond of a surety company organized pursuant to Section 105 of Chapter 175 or of a surety company authorized to do business in Commonwealth under the provisions of Section 106 of said Chapter 175 and be approved by the U. S. Department of Treasury and acceptable as sureties and reinsurers on federal bonds under Title 31 of the United States Code, sections 9304 to 9308.
