The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to solicit bids for all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for construction of vestibules inside the primary entrance at four (4) Chesterfield County Public Schools: 1. C.E. Curtis Elementary School - 6300 W Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831. 2. Grange Hall Elementary School - 19301 Hull Street, Moseley, VA 23120. 3. Bon Air Elementary School - 8701 Polk Street, Bon Air, VA 23235. 4. Chalkley Elementary School - 3301 Turner Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832. Specifications and drawings prepared by Commonwealth Architects, are included in ATTACHMENTS B, C, D, and E. Information regarding use of a brand name is addressed in Section IV.B. SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS, page 22 item 5. Variance in specifications deemed not to be material, in the sole discretion of the County, may be allowed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Project Schedule: Contractor may commence work after notice to proceed issuance, and shall obtain substantial completion on or prior to August 9, 2024. Final completion shall be 30 calendar days from the effective substantial completion date. To limit disturbances to operations and instruction, all work shall be coordinated with CCPS activities and the CCPS Project Manager. Contractor may commence work prior to June 2, 2024, after school hours and weekends only. After June 2, 2024, standard working hours are 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their power of attorney. Each Bid Bond and the accompanying power of attorney should bear the same date. In case of the failure of the bidder to execute the contract within the prescribed time, the County may, at its option consider the bidder in default, in which case the bid bond accompanying the bid shall become the property of the County.
