Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Somerville, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Bids will be received for: Single Overall Contract (C008 or C009 with C029, C030, C032, C047). All Requests for Information (RFI) must be submitted in writing by May 14, 2024, and sent to info@fvhdpc.com, or fax to 609-883-2694 or via common carrier to the Architect. All correspondence must include the Architect Project Name and Project Number referenced. The Architect is not responsible for misdirected or misrouted correspondence. The project is being financed in part through Federal Grant Funds from the US Gov't. American Rescue Plan, to the State Fiscal Recovery Funds. . Bid proposal shall be submitted in duplicate in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Owner (above), bearing the name and address of the bidder, and clearly marked "BID" with the contract title and project number on the outside of the envelope. If the bid exceeds $20,000.00, bidder must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC), prior to date bids are received. All bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., Affirmative Action Against Discrimination (N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.). This project is subject to the NJ State Prevailing Wage Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.27 et seq. All bidders must comply with N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. and N.J.S.A. 10:2-1. An Initial Project Workforce Report will be required from the successful contractor. (Form AA-201). Per N.J.S.A. 52:32-44, contractors and subcontractors must provide a Business Registration Certificate issued prior to the award of contract. . The Board of Education and the Architect assume no responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. . No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The right is reserved to reject all bids or to waive minor informalities in the bidding if it is in the interest of the Owner to do so. 1. All Site Work including indicated concrete sidewalks, concrete curbing, ADA curb ramp, fencing & gates, modular block wall, playground w/ rubberized surface, concrete plaza at courtyard and utility services, storm drainage system, sanitary sewer system, lawn restoration. 2. Building Addition and Alteration / Renovation: a. Addition: 1) Three Self-Contained Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms, 2) IDF Room, 3) Two Storage Rooms, 4) Janitor's Closet, 5) Two Vestibules / Corridor. b. Alteration / Renovation: 1) Four Self-Contained Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms. 3. Remove and replace limited area of SBS modified roofing at the existing building at the connection to the addition, as indicated on the drawings. 4. Mechanical Work includes: a. Work shall include all demolition and removals as indicated or required to support Classroom alterations and New Addition construction. b. Furnishing and installation of new Vertical packaged DX Classroom Unit Ventilators with Hot Water Heat, Horizontal Fan Coil Units/condensing units, DX Mini-Split System, Exhaust Fans and all associated ductwork systems, piping, controls, etc. associated with the New Addition and adjacent Classroom Renovations. c. Installing Owner Furnished Vertical packaged DX Classroom Unit Ventilators with Hot Water Heat associated with the New Addition and adjacent Classroom Renovations. 5. Plumbing Work includes: a. Work shall include demolition and removals, as indicated or required, to support Classroom alterations and New Addition construction. b. Furnishing and installation of Domestic Cold, Hot and Hot Water Return, Drainage, Vent and Storm water piping to support Classroom alterations and New Addition. c. Furnishing and installation of new Plumbing fixtures and all associated piping and controls and all cutting, patching, finishing and repair work required. 6. Electrical Work includes: a. Disconnect and remove wiring to existing HVAC equipment scheduled for removal back to the source panel; b. Provide new wiring, disconnect switches, and circuit breakers to new HVAC equipment; c. Remove lighting fixtures in existing spaces affected by the work. d. Remove and reinstall, ceiling mounted AV equipment in spaces affected by the ceiling replacement work. e. Provide new fire alarm devices as indicated and connect to the existing fire alarm panel; f. Provide new carbon monoxide detectors as indicated and connect to the existing fire alarm panel; g. Install new panelboards, transformer and disconnect switches. h. Install new interior lighting fixtures. i. Install new digital lighting controls. j. Provide new PA speakers and clocks in new addition. Connect to existing system. k. Provide new security system devices such as card readers, security cameras. l. Connect to existing security system
