The Bidder (prime contractor) must either themselves be located (primary or branch location), or have a subcontractor (primary or branch location) responsible for the installation work, located within a reasonable distance (defined as no greater than 300 miles from the Arlington Campus) to the Arlington campus. Mason reserves the right to determine, as part of our responsibility check, if a Contractor (or their installation subcontractor) is located within an acceptable geographical range to provide installation and other supporting services. If a Bidder falls outside the range, they will need to provide sufficient evidence and backup of how they will provide installation services as part of this award without being located in what is considered an acceptable distance to the campus or without having an installer located within an acceptable distance to the Campus. Mason has the sole right to determine a contractor's responsibility prior to award. The Bidders bid shall be accompanied by a Standard Bid Bond for Non-Construction Projects that shall be submitted with their bid in the amount of 5% of the total bid. The Bid bond shall guarantee that the Principal (Bidder) will not withdraw their bid during the period of ninety (90) days following the opening of the bids.
