Project Number- 14-1002 Value: $1,000,000 to $3,000,000 Budget: $2,329,000 Liquidated damages are prescribed in Document E, Article 49 - Liquidated Damages, and are hereby agreed to by all parties. Liquidated damages are established at the rate of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars per calendar day. Wherever the estimated quantities of work to be done and materials to be furnished under this Contract are shown in any of the documents including the proposal, they are given for use in comparing bids and the right is especially reserved to increase or diminish them as they may be deemed reasonably necessary or desirable to complete the Work contemplated by this Contract, and such increase or diminution shall in no way vitiate this Contract, nor shall any such increase or diminution give cause for claims or liability for damages. Each bid submitted in connection with this Project shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid, payable without condition to the tate of Kansas Questions concerning the Instructions to Bidders, Form of Contract, Insurances and Bonds shall be addressed to the Office of Procurement and Contracts, Department of Administration, Suite 451S, 900 S.W. Jackson Street, Topeka, Kansas 66612, telephone (785) 296-0002 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. This project has an estimated value range of $1,000,000 to $3,000,000. Should a bidder find discrepancies in or omissions from the Specifications and/or Drawings, or if there is doubt as to their meaning, the bidder shall advise the Project Architect/Engineer at once.Requests for clarifications and interpretations of the Construction Contract Documents (Technical Specifications and Drawings) shall be presented to the Project Architect/Engineer in writing at least ten (10) days prior to the date on which bids are to be opened. Project Identification: Flint Hills Trail Phase 2D. 1. Project Location: Osage County, Kansas 2. The project consists of a base bid. a. The base bid includes all work along the Flint Hills Trail as shown on the plans from S. Lewelling Road in Osage County to Topeka Street in Vassar. B. Type of Contract 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. 2. Contractor must complete at least 30% of the proposed work, based on schedule of values, by his own forces not including subcontract labor. 3. Contractor shall submit completed Kansas Department of Transportation's (KDOT) form 1010 to Owner/Engineer after every payment to the Contractor. 4. Costs associated with bonds (bid, performance, maintenance, guarantees, or other) are not participating items and cannot be paid with Federal funds. Contractor shall provide a separate line item on the pay request for these costs. 5. Changes to the initial Contract are to be made by the Project Architect/Engineer with the approval of the owner, the Director of the Office of Facilities and Procurement Management, and the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). C. The Work consists of the following: 1. The Work consists of construction of a multi-use path (rails to trails project) in Osage County including bridge railing and culvert replacement.
