0.95 Miles of Road Widening and Resurfacing: Jamie Glass Road PROJECT NO.: LMIG24-RC-002 2' WIDENING BOTH SIDES OF ROAD, DOUBLE SURFACE TREATMENT RESURFACING, INSTALL RAISED PAVEMENT MARKERS REQUIRED STRIPING: WHITE EDGE LINE CENTER LINE STOP BAR Each proposal Shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond acceptable to the Owner, in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Proposal, payable without condition to the Owner as a guaranty that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly execute the Agreement in accordance with the Proposal and other Contract Documents, and will furnish good and sufficient bond for the persons supplying labor and material for the Work. The proposal guaranties of all the Bidders except the three lowest will be returned promptly after the canvass of the Proposals. The successful Bidder, simultaneously with the execution of the Contract, will be required to furnish a faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and a Labor and Material Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount. Said bonds shall be secured from a surety company satisfactory to the Owner. The forms of the Bonds the successful Bidder shall be required to execute are included in the Contract Documents. Time is of the essence on this project. Liquidated damages shall accrue at the rate of $350 per calendar day if the Contractor fails to complete the Work within the Contract Time period specified in the Proposal. The Contract Time will begin at the date of the Notice to Proceed. No submitted proposal may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids. The Randolph County Board of Commissioners, hereinafter called the Owner, reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive any formality or technicality and to award the Proposal as may be in the best interest of the Owner, or re-advertise for bids. *Any interpretation or correction of the documents will be made only by Addendum duly issued and a copy of the Addendum will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of the Contract Documents. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for any other explanations or interpretations of the Contract Documents. Requests received less than ten (10) days prior to the date of the opening of the bids may not be answered.
