Renovation of an educational facility in Chestermere, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
RVS is requesting proposals from General Contractors licensed and qualified to carry out work in the Province of Alberta; to enter into an Agreement to perform Chestermere Lake Middle School Lighting and Ceiling Upgrade. LED Lighting replacement scope of work and specification. 1. Unless otherwise stated replace fixture with same size fixture. RVS has supplied a list of quantities and fixture types per room. Follow the list as the fixture type may not match existing fixtures. 2. Unless otherwise stated, keep the switching the same. 3. Flush mounted fixtures in drywall to be retrofitted with an electronic ballast and LED tubes, trim to be touched up with paint and a new lens installed if new fixtures will not fit in the drywall trim. 4. LED Troffer fixtures to be wattage and color adjustable. Set color to 4000k, and middle wattage. 5. Unless otherwise stated, assume 120 volts. 6. All old fixtures must be removed and recycled at the contractor's cost. 7. All cardboard from new fixtures to be recycled by the contractor. 8. Floors in areas of work to be protected or the contractor could be charged for damage to the floor if warranted. 9. Fixtures with a 10-year warranty preferred. 10. Fixtures from a recognized brand are preferred. Lithonia, Sylvania, equivalent, or better. 11. Floors are to be swept up after installation of new fixtures. 12. Any unused lighting whips must be removed. 13. Emergency lighting systems and Exit lights will not be replaced. 14. Please note that the school can be used as temporary storage after summer holidays. 15. Location of bins and dumpsters to be determined with Rocky View Schools’ staff. 16. Troffer and strip fixtures must be able to be hung. 17. Wall mounted fixtures (68) in the hall areas with very high ceilings will be retro fitted with new electronic ballasts and LED tubes (2 each). 18. No dimming to be added unless otherwise specified. 19. Reinstall all devices such as speakers, fire alarm devices, motion sensors, vents or grills, and remote heads in new ceiling tiles. 20. Electrical contractors to be Prime, and ceiling contractors to be Sub. 21. When light fixture count changes in a room layout to be made by RVS staff. 22. Send fixture specs and details with your pricing Fixture Count 1. 2x4 Hangable Troffer with cage x16 2. 2x4 Troffer x434 3. 2x4 Flush. Price as retrofitting w/electronic ballast, two LED tubes and replace lenses x15 4. 1x4 Flush. Price as retrofitting w/electronic ballast and two LED tubes x6 5. 1x4 Hangable Troffer x20 6. 2x2 Troffer x20 7. 4’ Strip fixture x192 8. 8” Pot (replacing compact florescent pot in drywall) x28 9. 4’ Wall fixtures. Retrofit existing 4’ fixture with electronic ballast, two LED tubes and new Lens x68 10. 6” Pot x9 Ceiling replacement scope and specifications 1. In pink/purple highlighted areas - replace only the tiles that need to be replaced. 2. In yellow/orange highlighted areas - replace all ceiling tiles. 3. In blue highlighted areas - replace both the grid and the tile 4. Reinstall all ventilation diffusers into ceilings. 5. Sweep floors after work has been completed. 6. Use plastic to protect all teachers' desks and computers from dust. 7. Tile and other garbage disposal costs are carried by contractors. Cardboard is to be recycled at the contractor’s cost. 8. The contractor can reuse old hangers for the grids that need to be replaced. Any unused old hanger wires need to be removed. The existing M6 wall molding can be reused in the new grid sections. 9. The ceiling tile needs to be CGC Radar basic 2310. 10. The contractor is required to site measure the area for their quote. 11. Material storage and waste bin placement needs to be agreed upon with Rocky View Schools’ personnel on site. 12. All work needs to be completed during the summer months. 13. The ceiling contractor will be a sub of the lighting contractor.
