This project consists of the milling off and overlaying of 2 inches of asphalt and bringing curb ramps into compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project will be phased over multiple years with Meramec and Bonhomme planned for 2022 (Phase 1). Central, Carondelet, Bemiston and portions of Brentwood is planned for 2024 (Phase 2). Design began in 2020. Phase 1 of this project has received TIP/STP grant funding through the East West Gateway Council of Governments. Phase 2 of this project was approved by EW Gateway for funding. Plans for Phase 2 are being developed at this time by Horner & Shifrin, Inc. and property acquisition for Phase 2 will begin soon. This will involve staff contacting impacted property owners and negotiating the acquisition of the right of way or easements. Final design will immediately follow. As of April 18, 2024, this project is included in the city’s 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Project funded for FY2024. Per owner, they are currently preparing to begin right-of-way acquisition and final plan development. They hope to bid the project perhaps as early as August 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
