West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science Board of Directors seeks bids for the removal and replacement of eleven (11) RTUs on the secondary education building. West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science is a tuition-free public school serving children in grade pre-K through 12th grade located at 4463 Leonard NW, Walker, MI 49544. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. If the Board awards the contract, the security of unsuccessful bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. Insurance: the successful bidder will be required to maintain Employers Liability, Commercial General Liability, Workers Compensation, Automobile and Extended Insurance. Insurance certificates must list the West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science as additional insured. Scope of work to include rooftop unit replacement for the West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science (WMAES), Secondary School located Walker, MI. The Secondary School's existing rooftop units (RTU) were damaged from a 2023 hailstorm and have reached their useful life. Rooftop units are to be replaced with new 1 for 1 RTUs at their current location. There are 11 RTUs where new Carrier products are matched to reuse the existing roof curb supports and reconnect gas and electrical power. New unit smoke detectors are to be integrated back into the school's fire alarm system. There is no district building energy management system for this project. Existing school room thermostats to be reconnected to operate the new unit controller. Contractor shall be responsible to furnish and install a complete operating system with the appropriate permitting, testing and startup. Warranty to be extended through 1-complete year of heating and cooling season
