Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Elgin, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field.
As of June 25, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. Scope- The Work is generally described as follows: The approximate 45-acre site is located at the southwest corner of Rt 20 and Rt 31 in Elgin, IL. The scope of work includes but is not limited to site clearing, earthwork, utilities, electric, communications, roadway and pedestrian paving, synthetic turf athletic fields, fencing, lighting, landscape and irrigation. The project also consists of two new buildings, a restroom concession building and a maintenance building. Question Deadline 05/13/2024 at 3:00 PM CT An original bid bond (in the amount of 10% of the original bid amount) must be delivered to the City of Elgin Purchasing Department, 150 Dexter Court no later than 12:00 pm on May 9, 2024. All bid documents shall be uploaded The approximate 45-acre site is located at the southwest corner of Rt 20 and Rt 31 in Elgin, IL. The scope of work includes but is not limited to site clearing, earthwork, utilities, electric, communications, roadway and pedestrian paving, synthetic turf athletic fields, fencing, lighting, landscape and irrigation. The project also consists of two new buildings, a restroom concession building and a maintenance building. All proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified or cashier's, or a bank draft in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the bid, payable without condition to the City of Elgin, Illinois, which sum shall be forfeited in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a binding contract and provide a properly executed contract and surety bond within 15 days after the date the contract is awarded by the City Council. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. The successful bidder and all sub-contractors shall be required to conform to the labor standards set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wage and shall provide certified payrolls to the City for the duration of the project. This project must comply with the Elgin Responsible Bidders Ordinance and Elgin Residency Requirements. The bidder shall submit, if requested by the City, a list of qualified references for projects of similar size and scope of this project. Proposals withdrawn may not be resubmitted at the same letting. Each bidder shall satisfy the City as to their ability, financially or otherwise, to carry out the work. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive technicalities and any informality in any bid. Alternate No. 2: Athletic Field #3 including earthwork, utilities, containment curb, synthetic turf, chain link fence and gates, backstop netting, irrigation and lighting in lieu of lawn and irrigation. 3. Alternate No. 3: Playground including earthwork, utilities, containment curb, playground turf, playground equipment, decorative fence, landscape and site furnishings in lieu of lawn. 4. Alternate No. 4: North Parking Lot #2 including earthwork, utilities, concrete curb, asphalt paving, permeable pavers, pavement markings and landscape in lieu of lawn. 5. Alternate No. 5: East Parking Lot #3 including earthwork, utilities, concrete curb, asphalt paving, permeable pavers, pavement markings, landscape and lighting in lieu of lawn. 6. Alternate No. 6: Plaza Permeable Pavers including earthwork, utilities and permeable pavers.in lieu of decorative concrete paving. 7. Alternate No. 7: West Parking Lot #1 Permeable Pavers including earthwork, utilities and permeable pavers in lieu of asphalt paving. 8. Alternate No.8 Native Landscape Year Three Maintenance. 9. Alternate No.9 Additional irrigation including valves, lines and sprinkler heads.
