As of June 6, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Water, Waste & Vent Pipe Replacement - Phase 5 - Canterbury Arms - GC. ALTERNATE NO. 1: Alternate One Description: Alternate One consists of disconnecting 6" sanitary pipe under Boiler room floor, and installing new 6" sanitary pipe overhead from Boiler room to Maintenance room. Install new exterior 6" underground pipe from Maintenance room to existing sanitary main outside Community room. Estimated Construction Cost: $620,000.00 This Section lists the Alternates which appear in the Contract Documents. Consult the individual sections of the detailed requirements of each Alternate. B. Bid prices for each Alternate shall include overhead, profit, and all other expenses incidental to the Work under each Alternate. C. The Contractor and Subcontractors shall be responsible for examining the scope of each Alternate generally defined herein and for recognizing modifications to the Work caused by the Alternates and including the cost thereof in the bid price. D. The Contractor's alternate amount shall include the net change in cost to perform all of the work described in the Alternate. In general, the Project consists of, but is not limited to: Selective demolition to cut existing First Floor concrete slab and excavate around First Floor underground 6" sewer pipe and prep for new 6" pipe in Laundry room to Kitchen; remove existing cabinetry where shown on First Floor; and to remove partial wall and wall board, patching of concrete floor and new epoxy or ceramic tile floor at First Floor. Alternate One consists of disconnecting 6" sanitary pipe under Boiler room floor, and installing new 6" sanitary pipe overhead from Boiler room to Maintenance room. Install new exterior 6" underground pipe from Maintenance room to existing sanitary main outside Community room. Selective demolition also includes removal of existing ABS waste, water, and vent piping in kitchen/ living room pipe chases inside the indicated apartments on Floors 2 through 5, and disconnecting and removing existing disposals with new disposals in those apartments. Existing kitchen sinks to remain and base and wall cabinets to remain in those apartments. Furnish and install at First Floor; new 6" pipe and trench infill and concrete slab with grade beam. Provide and install new cabinetry & appliance as called for; new gypsum wallboard work and new flooring. At Floors 2 through 5, provide and install new cast iron waste pipe and venting, and copper water piping in the existing pipe chases and back to existing sinks. Protect floors, walls and ceilings. The work includes rough carpentry, fire stopping, PVC roof patching including new boots for new plumbing, metal access panels and frames, gypsum wall board systems and patching, and painting. Telephone jack, and electrical receptacle relocation are required to enable access to plumbing chase. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation goal reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 10.4% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. See Contract Documents Section - W/MBE Goals and Requirements Met or exceed the 10.4% WMBE requirement for this project; The Contractor shall perform all work required by the Contract Documents for Canterbury Arms Apartments, Water, Waste & Vent Pipe Replacement Phase Five, Chicopee, MA Project #23-376 referred to in the Contract Documents prepared by Boston Bay Architects.
