Reference Number 0000349800 The City of Portage invites interested Contractors to submit a sealed bid for the repair and resurfacing of 8,850 square feet of bay flooring at Fire Station #1 and Fire Station #3. The City of Portage recommends interested contractors schedule a time to measure the floors at each station as this total square footage is an estimate only. Question Deadline 05/03/2024 at 5:00 PM ET Questions and requests for clarification related to definition or interpretation of this RFB shall be submitted in writing prior email to: Victoria Barboza, Purchasing Manager purchasing@portagemi.gov. No questions will be accepted via telephone and oral explanations or instructions shall not be considered binding on behalf of the City. An addendum will be issued in response to questions, which will only be available by downloading from the website. Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Maintenance Bond 25 % - Labor and Materials Bond 100 % - Payment Bond 100 %. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities, and further reserves the right to accept any bid or parts of bids which it deems to best serve the interest of the City.
The Contractor shall repair and resurface 8,850 square feet of bay flooring at Fire Station #1 and Fire
Station #3.
1. Scope
The resurfacing of the bay floors should include the following:
1.1. Removal and disposal of existing floor coatings using equipment designed for such
removal to include diamatic grinders and jackhammer.
1.2. Preparation of the concrete to a CSP Profile of 3-5.
1.3. Cut key joints around all drains and terminations.
1.4. Clean and vacuum the entire project space to remove all debris and dust that could affect
application and adhesion.
1.5. Repair, fill, and patch all cracks, holes or damage to the concrete.
1.6. Apply PIP UCSM urethane cement slurry at a 1/4 ".
1.7. Broadcast 60 grit aluminum until rejection.
1.8. Apply top-coat of PIP 2000UR chemical resistant urethane.
2. Current bay floor locations and approximate sizes for bid purposes
2.1. The Contractor shall repair and resurface:
2.1.1. 5,000 square feet of bay flooring at Fire Station #1 located at 7830 Shaver Road
Portage, Michigan 49024.
2.1.2. 3,850 square feet of bay flooring at Fire Station #3 located at 8503 S. Sprinkle
Road, Portage, Michigan 49002.
2.2. The Contractor will specify in detail the warranty provided for the resurfacing,
workmanship, parts and labor (if applicable).
2.3. The Contractor will provide instruction on the care and maintenance of the resurfaced bay
floors.
