Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mason City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; road / highway; and road / highway.

The extent of the work involved is the furnishing of labor and new materials for the construction of a Shared-use Trail and Steel Truss Pedestrian Bridge, but not limited to the following: Clearing and grubbing, topsoil stripping, stockpiling and placing, excavation, modified subbase, compaction, pipe culverts and aprons, removal of pavement, 6" PCC shared-use path, 5" HMA shared-use path, special subgrade preparation, detectable warnings, 6" PCC driveway, full depth patching, pole foundations, painted pavement markings, traffic control, traffic signs, perforated steel posts and anchors, removal and reinstallation of signs, seeding, mulching, and fertilizing native grass and forbs and type 2 seeding, SWPPP preparation and management, erosion control items, class 10, 20 and 22 excavation, granular backfill, structural concrete, reinforcing steel, stainless steel reinforcing steel, pre-engineered steel truss trail bridge, erosion stone, engineering fabric, revetment, lighting, and other incidental items to complete the project. The Project includes an alternate bid for improvements to a Prestressed Pretensioned Concrete Beam Bridge on N. Illinois Avenue and the extent of the work involved is the furnishing of labor and new materials for the construction of widening the sidewalk that traverses the bridge, but not limited to the following: Furnishing and spreading topsoil, concrete separation barrier rail and footing, removal of pavement, removal of sidewalk, concrete approach barrier, 6" PCC sidewalk, mulching, seeding and fertilizing and erosion control items, and other incidental items to complete the project. The work consists of the furnishing of labor and new materials for constructing a shared-use trail and bridge. The established DBE goal for this project is 0% of the total amount bid. The bid security must not contain any conditions either in body or as an endorsement thereon. The bid security shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails orcrefuses to enter into contract within ten (10) days after the award of contract and post bond satisfactory to the City insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and the maintenance of said work, if required, pursuant to the provisions of this notice and the other contract documents. The City will accept bidc bond forms that meet the Requirements of Iowa Code, Section 26.8. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City. The Contractor shall commence work within ten (10) days after the Notice to Proceed is issued and shall be completed on or before May 23, 2025. Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed to WHKS & Co., 1412 6th Street SW, P.O. Box 1467, Mason City, IA, 50402 and to be given consideration must be received at least five days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids. Any and all such interpretations any supplemental instructions will be in the form of written addenda to the Specifications which, if issued, will be delivered to all prospective bidders (at the respective address furnished for such purposes). Failure of any bidder to receive any such addendum or interpretation shall not relieve such bidder from any obligation under his Bid as submitted. All addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract documents
