Questions Due Date: Apr 23rd 2024, 11:00 AM EDT Project Description: The City of Akron, Ohio is seeking qualified Engineering Consultants to provide professional services for the Hawkins Avenue (S) Water Main Extension. The project consists of design and construction of 1,200 feet of water main on S. Hawkins Avenue between Morse Street and Jason Avenue to connect two non-circulating areas to improve flow and water quality in the area by preparing construction documents, detailed construction plans signed and stamped as Engineer of Record, cost estimating, and technical specifications. An evaluation in design will determine if the proposed water main extension will be an 8-inch or a 16-inch as both sizes of pipe exist as dead-end stubs near the intersection of S Hawkins Ave and Morse St. to the north. To the south, an existing dead-end 8- inch water main stub is near 1971 Hawkins Ave. The evaluation will also consider if expanding the high-service pressure district to include this area will help improve flow as the area is currently in the normal pressure district and is experiencing less than adequate available fire-flow.
