Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Beacon Falls, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Rehabilitation of Church Street. Question Deadline 05/07/2024 at 4:00 PM ET All questions regarding the specifications must be directed within the Bonfire portal by online. Questions: Answers to questions submitted by the deadline listed above will be addressed in an addendum which will be issued by the Town and posted in the Bonfire portal as well as the State Department of Administrative Services procurement website, CTSource. The project shall be completed within 180 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. SCOPE OF WORK OBJECTIVE: The objective is to rehabilitate Church Street, which includes full-depth reconstruction, paving, installation of new bituminous concrete curbing, driveway aprons, monolithic concrete sidewalks/curbing, guiderail, storm drainage modifications, and new signs and pavement markings. Site Meetings: The Contractor shall hold a pre-construction meeting at least one week prior to the start of construction and bi-weekly construction progress meetings for the duration of the contract. A semifinal and final site inspection will be held once the project is considered substantially complete in accordance with the standard specifications and as confirmed by the Town. Project Description: ITB #24-4; STEAP Project #20-3-14A; Beacon Falls is seeking bids from qualified respondents for the roadway rehabilitation of Church Street, which includes full-depth reconstruction, paving, installation of new bituminous concrete curbing, driveway aprons, monolithic concrete sidewalks/curbing, guiderail, storm drainage modifications, and new signs and pavement markings. Respondents must have demonstrated experience in completing similar work (as described in the contract plans, standard specifications and special provisions) and adhere to standards and requirements (State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads, Bridges, Facilities and Incidental Construction Form 818, dated 2020 and latest supplements, and Town of Beacon Falls standards) typical for such work. Upon award, the winning respondent shall be bound by the proposal price throughout the contract period. Beacon Falls is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. The Contractor must comply with the Small Contractors Set-Aside Program and the hiring goals identified by the State Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO.) The Contractor shall perform, with its own organization, Contract work with a value under the Contract of at least 50% of the original total Contract value, as stated in Section 1.08 of Form 818. A certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid must accompany each proposal. Performance Bond and Payment Bond: awarded respondent must provide the Town of Beacon Falls a payment and performance surety bond, each in the amount of 100% of the total contract value with a minimum Best Company rating of "A/VII". Liquidated damages charge to apply will be two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) per calendar day, in which work is extended beyond the allotted calendar days. Beacon Falls reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, or waive defects in same, if it deems such to be in its best interest. Description: This work shall consist of the excavation of test pits where necessary to locate or examine utilities, subsurface structures, pipes, soils, groundwater, or any other obstacles or conditions as directed by the Engineer. This work shall consist of the satisfactory removal of all materials including, but not limited to, sawcutting pavements and sidewalks, pavement and sidewalk removal, excavation, hand digging, shoring and bracing, water removal from within pit, stockpiling, satisfactory disposal of surplus or unsuitable material, backfilling, compacting, pavement repair, sidewalk repair, etc. Test pits shall be dug as necessary for the Contractor to determine subsurface conditions as indicated on the Contract Drawings or as directed by the Engineer. This work shall include the coordination with the affected utility companies. Any damage caused by the Contractor or Subcontractors, as determined by the Engineer, shall be corrected by the Contractor in accordance with these specifications
