Description: WIN. 027480.00 Location:In Aroostook County, project is located on Route 161, beginning at the Saint John River bridge in Allagash, and extending northeast 17.96 miles. Includes bridges (#2014, #3909, #5658). Outline of Work: Highway Rehabilitation and other incidental work. Question Deadline 05/06/2024 at 12:00 PM ET Questions received after 12:00 noon of Monday (or i f that Monday is a state holiday, Friday) prior to bid date will not be answered. Bidders shall not contact any other Departmental staff for clarification of Contract provisions, and the Department will not be responsible for any interpretations so obtained. Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided by the Department and must be accompanied by a bid bond at 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier's check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal money order in the amount of 5% of the bid amount, payable to Treasurer, State of Maine as a Bid guarantee. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder. This Contract is subject to all applicable Federal Laws, This contract is subject to compliance with the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program requirements as set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation. The right is hereby reserved to the MaineDOT to reject any or all bids. MEDOT - Highway Rehabilitation and Other Incidental Work Description This work shall consist of pulverizing a portion of the existing roadway structure into a homogenous mass, adding a Portland cement stabilizer to the depth specified in the contract, placing and compacting this material to the lines, grades, and dimensions shown on the plans or established by the Resident. Pulverizing of existing pavement layers may be accomplished by means and equipment described in this specification, or with equipment described in Section 311 - Cold Inplace Recycled Pavement that has been modified to pulverize pavement layers full depth, capable of reducing the required existing materials to a size that will pass a 2 inch square mesh sieve, including an inch of underlying gravel. Adding Portland cement to the pulverized pavement layer at the required depth and width may be accomplished by means and equipment described in this specification up to 6 inches in treatment depth, or with equipment described in Section 311 - Cold In-place Recycled Pavement up to 5 inches in treatment depth.
