Demarest Kill and Dutch Garden Parks are County properties that provides environmental open space in its natural environment. The two County Parks preserve open space for community enjoyment. Each park has its own unique physical appearance, distanced from one another and boarder the Demarest Kill Stream. The Demarest Kill Park is open wooded space which the Demarest Kill stream flows into a small pond and into the Demarest Kill water tributary. The Dutch Garden Park is a National Historic Landmark that requires New York State of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation approval for any improvements to the Park. The Park built in 1930 is a floral planting garden that has indigenous plantings common to Rockland County. The County sees creating a walking connection between the two parks will build open space opportunities for the community to enjoy.
