Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Ider, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Unsuccessful bidders will be refunded 100% of the plan deposit for one set returned to the Engineer, in reusable condition, within 10 days after the bid opening. Additional sets obtained shall be refunded 50% of the plan deposit. Separate sealed BIDS for the construction of Ider Town Park Improvements - Fencing Including Replacement of Ballfield Fencing for Three Ballfields, a Perimeter Fence and a Basketball/Pickleball/Tennis Court and Two Net or Chainlink Fence Backstops All non-bidders, subcontractors, vendors or dealers shall be refunded 50% of the plan deposit for each set returned to the Engineer, in reusable condition, within 10 days after the bid opening. All Bidders must comply with the requirements of the State Licensing Board for General Contractors (Latest Edition) and with the Alabama Act No. 97-225 (Title 39, Code of Alabama, 1975 as amended) relating to competitive bid laws for public works All Bidders must be properly licensed in accordance with the requirements of the State Licensing Board for General Contractors (Chapter 8, Title 34, Code of Alabama, 1975 or latest). Each BID must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the OWNER for five percent of the total amount of the BID. Refer to the Bid Bond form in Part II for when the maximum amount is capped. As soon as the BID PRICES have been compared, the OWNER will return the BONDS of all except the three lowest re- sponsible BIDDERS. When the Agreement is executed the BONDS of the two remaining unsuccessful BIDDERS will be returned. The BID BOND of the successful BIDDER will be retained until the payment BOND and performance BOND have been executed and approved, after which it will be returned. A certified check may be used in lieu of a BID BOND A performance BOND and a payment BOND, each in the amount of 100 percent of the CONTRACT PRICE, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER, will be required for the faithful performance of the CONTRACT. Description of Work A. Extent of painting Work is shown on Drawings and schedules and as herein specified. B. The Work includes painting and finishing of interior and exterior exposed items and surfaces throughout project, except as otherwise indicated. Surface preparation, priming and coats of paint specified are in addition to shop-priming and surface treatment specified under other Sections of Work. C. The Work includes field painting of exposed bare and covered pipes and ducts and of hangers, exposed steel and iron work and primed metal surfaces of equipment installed under mechanical and electrical work, except as otherwise indicated. D. Paint as used herein means all coating systems materials, including primers, emulsions, enamels, stain sealers and fillers and other applied materials whether used as prime, intermediate or final top coat. E. Paint exposed surfaces whether or not colors are designated in schedules, except where natural finish of material is specifically noted as a surface not to be painted. Where items or surfaces are not specifically mentioned, paint same as adjacent similar materials or areas. If color or finish in not designated, Engineer will select these from standard colors available for material systems specified. F. Prefinished items are not included as part of field-applied finish Work, or are included in other Sections of these Specifications. G. Unless otherwise specified, shop priming of ferrous metal items is included under various Sections for structural steel, miscellaneous metal, hollow metal work and similar items. Also, for fabricated components such as architectural woodwork, wood casework and shop-fabricated or factory-built mechanical and electrical equipment or accessories. H. For pre-finished items, unless otherwise indicated, do not include painting when factory-finishing or installer finishing is specified for such items as, but not limited to, metal toilet enclosures, prefinished partition systems, acoustic materials, architectural woodwork and casework, finished mechanical and electrical equipment including light fixtures, switch-gear and distribution cabinets, elevator entrance frames, doors and equipment. I. Unless otherwise indicated, painting is not required on surfaces such as walls or ceilings in concealed areas and generally inaccessible areas, foundation spaces, furred areas, utility tunnels, pipe spaces, duct shafts and elevator shafts. J. Metal surfaces of anodized aluminum, stainless steel, chromium plate, copper, bronze and similar finished materials will not require finish painting, unless otherwise indicated. K. Moving parts of operating units, mechanical and electrical parts, such as damper and valve operators, linkages, sensing devices, motor and fan shafts will not require finish painting, unless otherwise indicated. L. Do not paint over any code-required labels, such as Underwriters laboratories and Factory Mutual, or any equipment identification, performance rating, name or nomenclature plates.
